On behalf of Anbaalayam, Angeline Jeevachandran visited Vaharai yesterday.
A bicycle was donated to a Year 10 student to help his travel to school safely and consistently — Thank you Nagarajah Muralitharan for supporting his education.
Angeline also visited four families living in dire conditions — homes without windows, with broken roofs, and unbearable heat inside. Each house has only one room and a kitchen, yet multiple families are forced to share this limited space.
Among those she met were two orphaned girls raised by their grandmother. They don’t have a permanent place to sleep and rotate between different houses each night. Though they have a piece of land given by the government, the house on it is half-built with no roof.
