On Tuesday, 18 June 2024, Anbaalayam organised the purchase and distribution of large bags of dry rations to 30 Palestinian families in need, with support from the Community Migrant Resource Centre.
The Community Migrant Resource Centre works closely with various community members and organisations to support and advocate for migrants and refugees through numerous programs as stated on their website.
The event was honoured by the presence of Deputy Mayor of Cumberland Council, Ola Hamed.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated volunteers for their hard work and support in this initiative. Special thanks to:
- Vijitha Ramesh & Angeline Jeevachandran for shopping and packing the bags for distribution.
- Jiva Jivajirajah and Vani Jivajirajah for transporting the bags to the venue.
- Ashmita, Bala Balakrishnan, Rani Balakrishnan, and Nadarajah Ramesh for attending the event.
