Uchimunai is a picturesque small island near Putalam, a mere 40-minute speedboat ride from Kalpitiya. Our members had the pleasure of visiting this school in July 2023. As part of our commitment to the community, we purchased 80 pairs of shoes for the school kids as a Christmas gesture.
Additionally, it is heartening to note that the village, with support from an individual, is undertaking the construction of a beautiful church. The intention is to attract tourists and enhance local businesses through this endeavor, showcasing the community’s proactive approach to development and sustainability.
