At Trincomalee we met Atputhamary. She lost her husband last year, leaving her to care for three children all on her own. Currently, she is unwell and unable to perform her usual domestic work to support her family. To make matters more challenging, her 20-year-old son faces developmental challenges, and her 23-year-old son had to stop working after a debilitating accident.
The family has two goats, and in an effort to assist her family in earning a livelihood, Anbaalayam Australia gave two more goats to her. We also worked together to fix a secure and comfortable goat shed for their growing goat family.
